Real Madrid 4-2 Bayern Munich Highlights & All Goals – 18/04/2017

Sergio Ramos makes 100th Champions League appearance but gets caught out as Simpsons pop up at the Bernabeu… nine things you missed from Real Madrid 4-2 Bayern Munich

Cristiano Ronaldo stole the show as Real Madrid saw off Bayern Munich to book their spot in the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Robert Lewandowski coolly slotted home a second-half penalty before Cristiano Ronaldo thumped home a header to restore Madrid’s lead. However, just seconds after, Sergio Ramos scored an own-goal to hand Bayern the lead on the night and send the tie into extra-time.
Ronaldo then scored two more in the additional period to round off his hat-trick, with Marco Asensio adding some gloss to the scoreline late on as Real Madrid progressed 6-3 on aggregate.

Zinedine Zidane’s side are now on course to become the first ever side to win back-to-back Champions League trophies, joining Atletico Madrid in the semi-finals following their penalty triumph last year.
The on-field action was engrossing at the Bernabeu, so don’t worry if you missed the game’s finer details, Sportsmail has you covered.

1 – The Simpsons show their support
Younger fans may dismiss The Simpsons as a production of the past, but the iconic cartoon show, created in 1989, is still alive and well in 2017 after more than 600 episodes.
Two cartoon-looking mascots, one for each side, were spotted prior to kick-off outside the Bernabeu, reminding us that no matter what, you’re always going to recognise Bart Simpson.

2 – Never question the commitment of Real Madrid fans
As the team bus arrived, Real Madrid stars were mobbed by victory-seeking fans ahead of kick-off.
A goalless draw was enough to send the loyal Real Madrid fans home with exactly what they came for; a place in the Champions League last four but they were treated to four goals and a Ronaldo hat-trick.

3 – Sergio Ramos makes it a ton in the Champions League
Sergio Ramos celebrated his 100th appearance in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.
The former Sevilla defender has won two Champions League titles and scored ten goals in that time, but his embarrassing own-goal means he won’t rush to see the highlights of this game in a hurry.

4 – Ribery’s nutmeg on Luka Modric
The midfield maestro that is Luka Modric was taught a harsh lesson in trickery by Bayern Munich winger Frank Ribery, who deftly nut-mugged the former Spurs man in the first-half.
However, it was Modric who had the last laugh, as his side are in the semi-finals and Bayern Munich are out.

5 – Real Madrid’s can’t stop conceding first
Robert Lewandowski’s kept his cool to slot home at the Bernabeu, marking this the fourth consecutive game in which Real Madrid have conceded first in a Champions League knockout tie.
The first leg at the Allianz Arena saw Arturo Vidal fire Bayern into the lead, whilst in their last 16 tie with Napoli, goals from Lorenzo Insigne in the first leg, and Dries Mertens in the second, meant Ancelotti’s side had to navigate their way to the semi-finals by coming from behind in all of their knockout ties this year.
