STORYLINE: Fresh from their 4-0 victory over Hannover 96 in the German Bundesliga on Saturday (3rd October), the Bayern Munich squad donned some lederhosen and visited Oktoberfest on Sunday (5th October).
SCRIPTING INFORMATION:
It’s an annual pilgrimage for the Bayern Munich players and staff and on Sunday (5th October) they ventured to Oktoberfest for some local brews.
Donned in traditional lederhosen, the players went to a bar to sink a few steins of beer.
There were seven Oktoberfest debutants – Pepe Reina, Medhi Benatia, Juan Bernat, Xabi Alonso, Sebastian Rode, Robert Lewandowski and Sinan Kurt.
“I won’t drink too many beers, but today is a special day and I think now today I can drink a beer” Lewandowski said, while Xabi Alonso described his first experience as “really fun”.
Bayern players can toast being top of the Bundesliga table, four points clear of second-placed Hoffenheim, following a 4-0 win over Hannover on Saturday (4th October).
